It is with sadness that we record the recent death of Dr Graeme Gordon OBE.
Graeme was a pioneering trout farmer based in south west Scotland. He was an industry leader, a founder member of Scot Trout and Chairman of the Federation of European Aquaculture Producers. Graeme was a strong supporter of the Institute from the very beginning and became an enthusiastic member of our Advisory Committee, serving for many years. He was a true gentleman who spoke truth to power and he was able to provide much wise counsel and sound business sense, particularly during the early days of the Institute and of Howietoun Fish Farm.
In recognition of his contribution to the Scottish and European aquaculture industry, and to the Institute, the degree of Doctor of the University was conferred on him in 1996.
He will be remembered gratefully by us all and our thoughts are with his family.
