New Zealand delegation visit

We hosted a delegation from the New Zealand Government and aquaculture industry, including the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Phil Heatley. The delegation toured our facilities, including the tropical aquarium, and discussed what lessons could be learnt from the development of aquaculture in Scotland in order to ensure further success in New Zealand.
The delegation also included: Wayne McNee, CE, Ministry of Fisheries; Daniel Lees, Director, Aquaculture Unit, Ministry of Fisheries; and Kara Isaac – Ministers Adviser from the government side. Industry representatives incldued: Mike Burrell - Chief Executive, Aquaculture NZ; Peter Vitasovich - Managing Director, Greenshell NZ Ltd; Keith Palmer - Chief Executive, Wakatu Incorporation; Greg Johansson, General Manager, Operations, Sanford Ltd; Grant Rosewarne - Chief Executive, New Zealand King Salmon; and Laws Lawson – Te Ohu Kai Moana (organisation working to advance Maori interests in the marine environment)
The group also met New Zealander Simon McQuoid-Mason who is currently studying the MSc Sustainable Aquaculture here at Stirling.
